FREE FLOYD ROSE GUIDE

When I got my first Floyd Rose guitar, it was a used one and it was a liscensed Floyd Rose. I struggled a lot with the Floyd Rose, but in the process I learned a lot too. Even though I prefer hardtail or Strat-type tremolo guitars, I now have no problems in setting up Floyd Rose guitars, so I thought of writing a guide for all people who are new to Floyd Rose.

Although the guide is meant for Floyd Rose guitars, most of the steps explained in the guide can be applied to fixed bridge or strat tremolo guitars.

I've been playing guitar as a hobby since 2006, I started with a beat up cheap acoustic guitar which had a very high action (height from the fingerboard to the string's bottom) but a really nice tone. Spent three years learning on it and then moved on to an electric guitar, which I still have. Its a handmade guitar with a strat body.

I know all the technicalities of acoustic guitars, fixed bridge guitars, standard tremolo guitars and floating (Floyd Rose) tremolo guitars. I've fixed many of my friend's guitars and did it for them better and cheaper than a music store person would ever do.

I can install new pickups and do electronics of electric guitars from scratch. My dad has made amps and different electronic devices for music, so I have a pretty good background with electric stuff.

I approach every guitar student differently. I get them to tell me their goals and then I tailor the guitar course according to the list of the goals the student wants to acheive. Provides motivation and a sense of direction to the student.

I also have a tendency to teach them the songs they like (ordered according to difficulty) as soon as possible. So, I'll first teach them some techniques and then choose a song they like which uses those techniques and help them play that song up to speed in as little time as possible. That provides even more motivation to the student.

Singing is something I consider that is not for me. My voice is not made for singing. But I have people who jam with me and they sing. So if someone books a session with me for performance, if they want a singer, I'll bring a singer with me, they won't have to arrange for a singer themselves.

Also, if anyone has problems with their guitars and are unable to send the guitar to me for any reason, I'll try to help as best as I possibly can with their problems. All they need to do is drop me an email. I also know many experts and I can get them in touch to get opinions.
